A delightful two bedroom detached cottage set in an elevated position in the quintessential Cotswold village of Guiting Power. Rock Cottage has been in the same family for almost 80 years, and would now benefit from refurbishment and possibly an extension (subject to planning permission).
The property, located at the top of Piccadilly, is set on a generous plot with a glorious cottage garden to the front and a steep garden to the rear, which is currently used to grow vegetables. The house briefly comprises a cosy sitting room with large inglenook fireplace, which leads through to a dining room at the rear and kitchen to the side. The ground floor shower room was renovated around three years ago. Upstairs you’ll find two double bedrooms and a storage area in the eaves. The property also benefits from having Gigaclear.
Just a short walk from the cottage, you’ll find plenty of amenities as well as wonderful walks through the surrounding countryside.
Guiting Power 'Gyting broc' can be traced back to the charter that was written in AD 780, in the 13th century the village became known as Guiting Power. Situated in the upper reaches of the Windrush Valley, the village is extremely well-equipped with a Norman village church, post office and coffee shop, local produce store and two pubs. The village is also home to Guiting Montessori Preschool & Daycare, with the Outstanding Cotswold School just six miles away in Bourton on the Water. The village is located 12 miles from Cheltenham.
